Been gone awhile

 Well i’ve been away a bit, moved to Park City and was lacking internet for awhile.  Some life changes caused writers block and being busier than I’d like at work all contributed to me not getting off my butt and writing anything. 

As you can see, my most frequent watering hole for the last 18 years is now in rubble and my locker room and office have since joined it.   Sad day for both, but in the long run, huge improvements for the skiing public at The Canyons.  I think I started sneaking into Smokies predecessor, Trails End, sometime around 1978, stealing nachos from my parents while my brother and I rode lunch trays down the front face and drank hot chocolate on saturday nights.  Tomahawk Lift (you newer folks probably know it as Golden Eagle), the first one ParkWest installed in 1968 is also being torn down as I type.  I must’ve ridden that old Riblet lift 10,000 times in the last 34 years…I have a sheave wheel on my desk now for a reminder of the metronome like squeak of the rope on the rubber.  It appears as if Lookout Cabin will be the last remnant of ParkWest infrastructure standing and I hope it out lives me…  Some call it progress, I guess it’s change may be good or bad, but at least its happening.

Leaving for another Motorcycle trip next week and have some pics from a quick trip to the Tetons to update this weekend.  Enjoy the 4th of July Holiday!!
