Homeward

GPSWe woke up early, parked in spot we shouldn’t haveHippie Parking and had a quick bite to eat and a big cup of coffee.  The day’s ride took us south, fast Fontenelle Reservoir and back to Evanston.  It was the least scenic day which wasn’t bad.  We had concerts to see and both wanted to rest a little beforehand.  The dogs acted like we had tied them to a burning stake and starved them for a month.  It’s nice to be missed when you get home.  The trip was a success, a few broken lights and scratches on the bike but they will get fixed.  All said and done, the total tally for the trip came in at 1155 miles, not bad for Kari’s first big trip and my first one with two on the bike.  A ton of learning about what worked and what didn’t, what to bring and what to leave home, and how to better rig the bike for long trips.  Can’t wait to get back on the road, but it looks like ski season is going to put at least a short wait in my future.  Until next time….
